Extensive Experience in Newspaper and Magazine Journalism
For nearly three decades, I’ve been deeply embedded in the newspaper and magazine industry, showcasing a strong foundation in newspaper and writing skills. My journey began as a freelancer for Ethiopia’s leading newspaper, Addis Zemen, where I honed my abilities as a reporter and page editor. This initial experience set the stage for a career that spans from contributing writer to publisher.
My writing skills have been critical in various editorial capacities. As co-founder and editor-in-chief of “Eletawi Addis,” Ethiopia’s first private daily newspaper, I was instrumental in shaping its editorial direction and ensuring the delivery of compelling content. I also served as editor-in-chief of the renowned magazine “The Reporter,” further demonstrating my leadership and editorial prowess. Additionally, my experience includes an editor-at-large role, where I consistently oversaw the creation of engaging and impactful content. I also helped establish and lead as an editor for other newspapers, including Ze Press, Zena Addis, and Ruh. As the founder, publisher, and editor of Zethiopia newspaper, I served as a vital bridge between the Ethiopian and American communities in the United States, utilizing my newspaper and writing skills to foster understanding and connection.
My contributions to newspapers underscore my proficiency in comprehensive research and clear, concise writing. I’ve covered a wide range of subjects, consistently producing well-structured articles that effectively inform and resonate with readers.
